P&J Data (ABN 68 308 572 519), trading as PJ Data (“we”, “us”, “our”), operates the website pjdata.com.au and the PJ Harness Analyser web app. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it.

P&J Data’s annual turnover is under $3 million, which generally exempts small businesses from the Privacy Act 1988. We have chosen to follow the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) as best practice anyway, so this policy describes what we actually do, not the minimum the law requires of us.

1. What we collect

  • Name, email address and password when you register for a free trial or an account
  • Payment and billing details when you purchase a subscription (processed by PayPal — we do not see or store your full card details ourselves)
  • Your IP address, logged automatically by our website and payment systems for security and fraud-prevention purposes
  • Subscription and login activity in the PJ Harness Analyser web app, including when you last used it

2. How we collect it

Directly from you, when you register an account, sign up for a free trial, or make a purchase. Some technical information (like IP address) is collected automatically by our website and payment systems as part of normal operation.

3. Why we collect and use it

  • To create and manage your account and free trial
  • To process payments and deliver the product or service you purchased
  • To verify your subscription and control access to the web app
  • To detect and prevent fraud or misuse of our services
  • To respond to your enquiries and provide customer support

We do not use your personal information for direct marketing, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

4. Who we share it with

We only share personal information with the third parties needed to run our business:

  • PayPal — to process your payment. PayPal is based overseas (United States); when you pay, your payment details are sent to and held by PayPal under its own privacy policy, not ours.
  • Our hosting providers — companies that store our website and the PJ Harness Analyser app on our behalf. Some of this infrastructure is hosted overseas.

We do not share your information with anyone else unless required by law.

5. Storage and security

Your information is stored on our website’s database and our hosting providers’ servers, protected by passwords and standard security measures. No method of storing or sending information over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, or unauthorised access.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account and subscription information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return or for our own record-keeping and legal obligations (for example, financial records).

7. Cookies

Our website uses only the cookies necessary for it to function, such as keeping you logged in. We do not currently use tracking or analytics tools (like Google Analytics) on this site.

8. Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time by emailing admin@pjdata.com.au.

9. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your personal information, please contact us first at admin@pjdata.com.au so we can try to resolve it directly. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will always show when it last changed.
